Best Buy Co. Inc. this week discounted Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS to under $160 in a new temporary price cut.

This week, customers can purchase the Nintendo 3DS XL at $159.99, $40 off the $199.99 MSRP.

The Nintendo 3DS XL includes a 4.88-inch main display, 90 percent larger the current Nintendo 3DS, and include a 4GB SD card.

Nintendo in Dec. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold 6.5 million units to date in the U.S.

The hardware sold 540,000 units in Nov. in captured data by NPD Group Inc.

In addition, Mario Kart 7 became the second Nintendo 3DS title to surpass two million units in sales in the U.S.
