Ubisoft Inc.’s ZombiU for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U has developed into the third largest Miiverse community online.
ZombiU currently holds more than 20,300 Wii U owners who have posted in the community. By comparison, Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II holds around 11,525 members.
The largest Miiverse community is Nintendo Land at 52,000 members, followed by New Super Mario Bros. U at 47,800.
Each of the top three communities has grown steadily by around 1,000 members each day.
The increasing number of ZombiU members is an indication that hardcore users are gravitating towards the new IP, which has held mixed reviews.
Many members in the community have come to the defense of the title as a tactical survival title rather than a typical run-and-gun shooter more commonplace in the current game market.
ZombiU is a survival horror title that includes a traditional first-person shooter campaign and distinct multiplayer experience using the Wii U GamePad.
The title utilizes the Wii U GamePad to allow users to manage inventory, scan environments to mark targets, pick locks, and view documents.
The Wii U launched Nov. 18 in the U.S.
