Microsoft Corp. this week said Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 generated $220 million in the first 24 hours at global retail.
In addition, the title is on track to reach $300 million in the first full week of sale.
The Halo franchise has now generated $3.38 billion at retail to date.
A total of four million users played the title in the first five days of release.
Halo 4 is the beginning of Reclaimer Saga, an epic new adventure in the Halo universe.
The title includes a new Spartan Ops mode to extend the campaign experience with new weekly downloadable episodes to be played solo or in co-op.
In addition, the title includes brand new multiplayer game modes, weapons, vehicles, armor abilities, loadouts, and progression system.
The Halo 4 Limited Edition SKU includes War Game Map Packs for access to nine maps, early access to six Specializations to access new ranks and new customization options, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn – a 90-minute extended version of the live action digital series, and bonus digital content to download via Xbox Live at $99.99.
The Xbox 360 Halo 4 Limited Edition Bundle includes a custom Xbox 360 320GB SKU, two custom wireless controllers, Halo 4 standard edition, custom sounds and custom content at $349.99.
