Konami Corp. this week said Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, a new open-world title in the tactical espionage franchise, will be a multi-platform release on current generation consoles and the PC.
A demo which was rendered with advanced PC hardware was said to be similarly configured to the Playstation 3 hardware.
The title is set to take place prior to the events of Metal Gear Solid 5.
A trailer released this month included a disfigured man who pays a visit to a boy locked in a cell. He later boards a helicopter and leaves the area. The action then shifts to a side of a cliff where Old Snake is set to infiltrate a compound.
The entire trailer is said to be rendered in real-time using the FOX engine on advanced PC hardware. The tech demo illustrated near-photo realistic locations and character models in dynamic weather patterns.
The release date for the title is to be determined.
