Media Create Co. this week reported the PS3 sold 14,580 units between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 13,944 units to rank third the week prior.
The PS3 ranked one title in the top 10, Atlus Inc.’s Persona 4: Arena at No. 8, which sold 16,912 units in third-week figures.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked fourth in the latest retail data from Japan.
The PS Vita sold 9,446 units between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12 to rank as the No. 5 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 9,038 the week prior.
The hardware did not rank any software titles in the top 10.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 12,018 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.
Sony this week said that it will enable a Cross Buy promotion for Cross Play titles for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
In the initiative, users who purchase the PS3 version of a title will automatically receive the PS Vita version at no extra cost.

The 3DS ranked three titles in top 10, including New Super Mario Bros. 2 at No. 1 selling 143,321 units in second-week figures.
The Nintendo DS sold 952 units for the week.
Tommo Inc. and SNK Playmore Corp. this week said it will sell the Neo Geo X Gold entertainment system in global markets Dec. 6, 2012
The handheld package will include the Neo Geo X handheld which includes 20 pre-loaded Neo Geo arcade game titles on a 4.3-inch LCD display. The handheld includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and can dock into the included Neo Geo X Station which offers HDMI and AV outputs and offers an expandable game card slot.
Finally, the entertainment system will include a full size Neo Geo X Joystick for true arcade action combined with the dock and a television set.
