Microsoft Corp. this week said the multiplayer component of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 will debut at the Gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany Aug. 15.
The live multiplayer world premiere will stream live to Xbox Live users in the U.S. and Europe. An on-demand version will be available afterward.
Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, to be sold Nov. 13, will include a brand new single-player campaign and multiplayer functionality.
Locations previewed in the title include Los Angeles and a mission set in Afghanistan in which users must ride horseback.
The final game will include new Strike Force missions that affect the story and the Zombies multiplayer mode.
