Capcom Co. this week said Dragon’s Dogma for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 has sold more than 1 million units worldwide.
The strong sales of the first entry are said to provide incentive to make the IP a franchise.
Dragon’s Dogma, to be sold May 22 in the U.S. and May 25 in Europe, is a new action title that includes combat in a large, open world.
The final game includes three interactive AI partners called Pawns that build ability dependant on player actions. Users can share Pawns with friends online and borrow Pawns to utilize specific skills for a particular task.
Dragon’s Dogma includes a token to download the Resident Evil 6 demo. It will be available July 3 in the Xbox Live division and Sept. 4 in the Playstation Network division.
