Microsoft Corp.’s Forza Horizon for the Xbox 360 ranked in the top 30 pre-order sales at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s online division due to building demand.
This week, Forza Horizon ranked as the No. 28 best-selling pre-order game title at Walmart.com.
Developed by Playground Games with Turn 10 Studios, Forza Horizon is said to include an open-road world that will allow users to explore the territory.
Microsoft in 2011 released Forza Motorsport 4 which included comprehensive outfit modes, vehicles, upgrades, and online play for casual or pro drivers.
Microsoft in July recorded a 39 percent decline in Xbox 360 sales from the year prior to 1.1 million units in the fourth quarter. Xbox 360 hardware market share increased to 49 percent from 42 percent.
The Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox business, climbed 19.4 percent year-over-year to $292 million.
Microsoft cited a soft gaming market for the decline.
