Microsoft Corp. this week said the Xbox 360 ranked as the top-selling game hardware in U.S. May sales figures.
The Xbox 360 sold 160,000 units to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the month in figures provided by NPD Group Inc.
The ranking marks the 15th consecutive month the Xbox 360 has held above 40 percent share of total next-generation console sales.
Video game sales fell 28 percent from one year prior to $516.5 million
Hardware sales declined 39 percent to $138.9 million and non-PC software sales fell 31 percent to $255.4 million.
Microsoft in Apr. recorded a 16 percent decline in the division that includes the Xbox business in third quarter results.
The Entertainment and Devices division posted revenue of $1.62 billion, a 16 percent decline from the year prior.
