Sony Corp. this week released System Software Update 1.69 for the Playstation Vita handheld.
The update is said to improve system software stability and is optional.
This week, customers who purchase the PS Vita Wi-Fi or 3G SKU will receive a $50 Amazon.com Credit towards a future purchase at no additional cost.
The PS Vita, which began sale Feb. 22 in the U.S., is sold in a Wi-Fi only model at $249.99 and a 3G model at $299.99.
The handheld has sold 1.8 million units to date in global territories.
