Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week demonstrated Hitman: Absolution for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The demo allowed users to take out a target in a crowded Chinatown with multiple options, including the use of a drug dealer disguise, poisoned fish, or a stashed weapon.
The challenge was to take out the target without being detected by guards littered in the city. Exposure of a weapon immediately triggers public notice which will call all nearby troops to fire on sight.
Surveillance AI is highly aware and a false move will require the user to restart the level or from the last checkpoint.
The graphics engine was impressive at 30 frames-per-second with a crowd full of independent acting NPCs and generous building and structure detail.
Developed by IO Interactive, Hitman Absolution, to be sold Nov. 20, is a stealth action title to include traditional franchise mechanics and new gameplay options.
The Profession Edition SKU includes the Hitman Art Book, Agency Gun Pack DLC, and Making Of DVD at $79.99.
Customers who pre-order the title will receive the exclusive Bartoli Custom Pistol.
