Sony Corp. this week said it will sell a new Playstation 3 Assassin’s Creed III hardware bundle this fall.
The bundle will include the PS3 hardware, Assassin’s Creed III, and exclusive DLC at a to be determined price.
Ubisoft Inc. this week concurrently demonstrated new sea battles for Assassin’s Creed III for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and the PC.
In sea battles, users can steer a large vessel and pinpoint a ray of cannon fire at an opposing ship. The ally vessel will subsequently dock with the enemy ship for another battle.
Assassin’s Creed III will incorporate fighting and stealth abilities in new frontier locations that allow Connor to scale trees and cliffs.
In addition, the control setup will be brand new to offer tactile functionality and dexterity.
Finally, the title will include hunting functionality to hunt, track, and skin wildlife.
Assassin’s Creed III, to be sold Oct. 30, is set in Mohawk Valley in 1777 and features an all-new Native American warrior protagonist in a fight to protect his land and ignite a revolution.
Ubisoft in Feb. said it sold seven million copies of Assassin’s Creed Revelations in the third quarter ending Dec. 31.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, released in Nov. 2011, is the final installment to feature Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
It includes upgraded weapons and abilities, all-new online characters in multiplayer mode, and a bonus spin-off game.
The company held revenue of $878.9 million in Q3, an increase of 8.8 percent from the year prior.
