Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 cracked the top three sales at GameStop Corp. this week after breaking 24-hour sales records.
This week, the Black Ops 2 Xbox 360 ranked as the No. 2 best-selling product in Amazon’s Video Games division.
The PS3 SKU ranked at No. 3 in the same period.
Retailer Amazon.com Inc. in May said pre-order sales for Black Ops 2 was more than ten times the amount of pre-orders for Black Ops in the first day of availability and more than 30 percent that of 2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, to be sold Nov. 13, will include a brand new single-player campaign and multiplayer functionality.
Locations previewed in the title include Los Angeles and a mission set in Afghanistan in which users must ride horseback.
The final game will include new Strike Force missions that affect the story and the Zombies multiplayer mode.
The PS3, Xbox 360, and PC SKUs sell at a pre-order price of $59.99 each.
