Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita climbed this week at Amazon.com Inc. amid a new retail bonus initiative for the product.
This week, the PS Vita Wi-Fi SKU held a 28 percent sales increase to rank at No. 14 in Amazon’s Video Games division.
Amazon this week began offering a free game title and memory card with the purchase of the PS Vita Wi-Fi SKU.
In the new offer, customers who purchase the PS Vita Wi-Fi SKU will receive Mortal Kombat and a 4GB Memory Card at no additional cost.
Mortal Kombat carries an MSRP of $39.99 while the 4GB Memory Card sells at $19.99.
Playstation Vita handheld have reached 1.2 million units at global retail since Feb.
The PS Vita includes dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes. It will utilize flash-memory game cards.
The PS Vita is sold in a Wi-Fi SKU at $249.99 and a 3G SKU at $299.99.
