2K Games, a division of Take Two Interactive Inc., this week said Bioshock Infinite for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and the PC will be sold in Feb. 26, 2013.

It was previously scheduled to be released Oct. 19 to U.S. retail.

Developer Irrational Games this week said it will make specific tweaks and improvements to the title. It added that it delayed the original release of Bioshock by several months to fine tune the game.

Finally, the developer will refrain from demonstrating the title at upcoming trade events like E3 and Gamescom in order to proceed with development.

Bioshock Infinite is a first-person shooter title set in a new world.

The new installment will include a new protagonist hired to rescue a young woman said to be held in a sky city called Columbia.

New gameplay includes aerial combat and high-speed Sky-Lines.

The 1999 Mode is said to offer a challenging form of play for veteran users, including demanding weapon, power, and health management and a direct ‘Game Over’ screen if the user lacks the resources to be brought back to life.

In addition, the mode will include permanent decisions that will include permanent consequences in the difficult mode.

The final game is said to utilize the Unreal Engine 3.
