Retailer Toys R Us Inc. this week discounted Microsoft Corp.’s Kinect for Xbox 360 to under $100 in a new Easter sales initiative.
This week, the Kinect sensor with Kinect Adventures holds a a sale price of $99.99, $50 below the $149.99 MSRP.
Microsoft has sold 18 million Kinect sensors globally.
The company in Jan. said the Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox business, held a 15 percent increase in second quarter earnings.
The division held revenue of $4.24 billion, a 15 percent increase from the year prior.
Xbox Live paid subscribers increased 33 percent to total 40 million members.
In the past fiscal year, 8.2 million Xbox 360 units were sold.
The hardware has sold 66 million units worldwide to date.
