Capcom Co. this week said it will release the first Spec Ops DLC for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City to the Playstation Network division of Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and the Xbox Live division of Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 Apr. 10.
The first DLC mission will be sold at no cost and feature Spec Ops characters in a mission to recover evidence to reveal the truth about the Raccoon City virus outbreak.
A total of seven new Spec Ops missions will be released in addition to four new versus mode maps.
Developed by Capcom and Slant 6 Games, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a third-person team-based shooter set between events in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.
In the game, users take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier to destroy all evidence of an outbreak and eliminate survivors.
The final game includes four-player co-op functionality and competitive online multiplayer modes between Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops, zombies and B.O.W enemies, and a Heroes Mode is a four vs. four online competitive multiplayer mode with classic Resident Evil characters.
The Special Edition SKU includes the Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City game, Steelbook with exclusive art, foil sleeve, Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch, Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch, and eight bonus weapons at $69.99.
