Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held as the top-selling game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 121,921 units between Mar. 26 and Apr. 1 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 94,011 the week prior.

The 3DS ranked five titles in the top 10 for the week, including Square Enix Co.’s Kingdom Hearts 3D – Dream Drop Distance at No. 1, Kid Icarus: Uprising at No. 4, Super Mario 3D Land at No. 7, Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 3G at No. 8, and Mario Kart 7 at No. 9.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo DSi LL sold 941 units and the Nintendo DSi sold 771 units for the week.

Pokemon Conquest for the Nintendo DS ranked as the No. 5 title for the week.

Nintendo in Dec. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 4 million units in Japan.

The hardware has sold more than 4.5 million units in the U.S.

Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.

The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
