Majesco Entertainment Company this week said it will release Double Dragon: Neon to the Playstation Network division of Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and the Xbox Live division of Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 this summer.

Developed by WayForward, the title is said to be an 80’s retake on the arcade classic, with new graphics, a mix tape level-up system, and power-up high fives.

“Double Dragon: Neon is far from a standard retro remake,” said Sean Velasco, Director, WayForward. “It’s WayForward’s love letter to the decade that spawned the franchise – the music, the style, and culture of the 80’s pulse through the nucleus of Double Dragon: Neon.”

Double Dragon: Neon will include two-player drop-in, drop-out co-op in a fight against the Black Dragon Clan’s leader Skullmageddon.
