Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment this week said Mortal Kombat for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita will be sold May 1 to U.S. retail.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the title is said to build upon the 2011 release with an all-new Challenge Tower mode with 150 brand new missions and touchscreen fatalities.

Mortal Kombat, released in 2011, is a reboot of the classic fight franchise with new fatalities, x-ray moves, and a 2-D fighting plane.

The PS Vita, which began sale Feb. 22 in the U.S., is sold in a Wi-Fi only model at $249.99 and a 3G model at $299.99.
