Media Create Co. this week reported the PS3 sold 27,900 units between Mar. 12 and Mar. 18 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 34,816 to rank third the week prior.
The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, including Namco Bandai Games Inc.’s One Piece: Pirate Warriors at No. 4.
Sony this week said it will release LittleBigPlanet Karting to the Playstation 3 in 2012.
Developed by United Front Games, the kart racing title is said to include a new campaign and level editor with the ability to share custom tracks.

The tablet, which began sale Mar. 16 in the U.S., will be sold in 24 additional countries Mar. 23.
“The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold ― the strongest iPad launch yet,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The new iPad includes a retina display that yields a 2048 x 1536 resolution and an A5X CPU that includes quad-core graphics functionality.
