Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held as the top-selling game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 64,017 units between Mar. 12 and Mar. 18 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 68,951 the week prior.
The 3DS ranked five titles in the top 10 for the week, including Sega Corp.’s Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai at No. 6, D3 Publisher Inc.’s If I Were Sealed in a Room with a Girl, I’d Probably at No. 7, Mario Kart 7 at No. 8, Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 3G at No. 9, and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games at No. 10.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo DSi LL sold 850 units and the Nintendo DSi sold 502 units for the week.
Nintendo’s Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition for the Nintendo DS ranked as the No. 1 title for the week.
Nintendo in Dec. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 4 million units in Japan.
The hardware has sold more than 4.5 million units in the U.S.
Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.
The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
