Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this week began selling Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 4GB console with a bonus Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card in a new online sale.

This week, customers who purchase the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99 will receive a bonus Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card at no cost.

The Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card typically sells separately at $59.99 each.

Microsoft in Jan. said the Entertainment and Devices, which includes the Xbox business, held a 15 percent increase in second quarter earnings.

The division held revenue of $4.24 billion, a 15 percent increase from the year prior.

In the past fiscal year, 8.2 million Xbox 360 units were sold.

The hardware has sold 66 million units worldwide to date.
