Sony Corp. this week the Music Unlimited service is now available for the Playstation Vita in Canada.

Music Unlimited is a cloud-based music subscription service that includes 15 million licensed songs from global labels.

With the service, users can cache playlists and channels when a Wi-Fi or 3G service is unavailable. Music Unlimited can be accessed from other devices including mobile and home products.

The service was made available last week in the U.S.

Sony in Feb said sales of the Playstation Vita handheld have reached 1.2 million units at global retail.

The hardware launched Feb. 22 in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and PAL territories.

It had previously sold more than 500,000 units post launch in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

In addition, PS Vita software sales have totaled two million units worldwide at retail and the Playstation Network.

The PS Vita is sold in a Wi-Fi SKU at $249.99 and a 3G SKU at $299.99.
