Inc. sold six million units of the Kindle Fire tablets in the fourth quarter according to new analyst estimate.

Forbes this week reported a Stifel Nicholas analyst lifted a sales estimate for the Kindle Fire from five million units to six million units sold in Q4.

Research firm Strategy Analytics this month said Android held a 39.1 percent market share in global tablet shipments in Q4, an increase from 29 percent from the year prior.

Amazon released the Kindle Fire in Nov. 2011 at $199.00. Features include the Amazon Silk browser, cloud storage, and digital streaming of movies and television content sold by Amazon.
