Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held the top hardware sales rank in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 80,960 units between Jan. 16 and Jan. 22 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The 3DS ranked five titles in the top 10 for the week, including Mario Kart 7 at No. 1, Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure at No. 2, Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter Tri G at No. 3, Super Mario 3D Land at No. 4, and Inazuna Eleven Go: Shine / Dark at No. 7.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo DSi LL sold 1,200 units and the Nintendo DSi sold 822 units for the week.
Nintendo in Dec. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 4 million units in Japan.
The hardware has sold more than four million units in the U.S.
Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.
The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
