Microsoft Corp. this week said the Entertainment and Devices, which includes the Xbox business, held a 15 percent increase in second quarter earnings.
The division held revenue of $4.24 billion, a 15 percent increase from the year prior.
Xbox Live paid subscribers increased 33 percent to total 40 million members.
In the past fiscal year, 8.2 million Xbox 360 units were sold. The hardware has sold 66 million units worldwide to date.
Total company revenue increased five percent to $20.89 billion. Operating income declined two percent to $7.99 billion and net income fell less than one percent to $6.62 billion.
