Capcom Co. this week announced Versus Modes to be included in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360.
Versus modes include 4 vs. 4 online team battles with the Umbrella Security Service (USS) against U.S. Spec Ops team; Team Deathmatch; Biohazard Mode to return samples of the G-Virus safely to their base; and Survivors Mode to survive in battle in wait for rescue.
USS members include Vector, Beltway, Lupo, Four-Eyes, Spectre or Bertha. U.S. Spec Ops members include Tweed, Dee-ay, Harley, Willow, Shona or Party Girl.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be sold Mar. 20, 2012 to U.S. retail.
A PC version is said to follow the console release.
Developed by Capcom and Slant 6 Games, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a third-person team-based shooter set between events in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.
In the game, users take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier to destroy all evidence of an outbreak and eliminate survivors.
The final game will include four-player co-op functionality and competitive online multiplayer modes between Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops, and zombies and B.O.W enemies.
The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Limited Edition will include the Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City game, Steelbook with exclusive art, foil sleeve, Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch, Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch, and eight bonus weapons at $69.99.
