Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita stabilized in the fourth week of sale in Japan after a three-week decline.
The PS Vita sold 42,815 units between Jan. 2 and Jan. 8 to rank as the No. 5 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 42,648 the week prior.
The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 71,033 units to rank third in the same period.
Sony in Jan. said the PS Vita has sold 500,000 units in Japan.
The PS Vita, to be sold in Feb. 22, 2012, will include the dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes. It will utilize flash-memory game cards.
Hardware specifications include an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, front camera, rear camera, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.
The Wi-Fi only model will sell at $249.99. The 3G model will sell at $299.99.
The Playstation Vita First Edition Bundle will be sold Feb. 15.
