Huawei is looking to make a splash at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show with two new world-class handsets. The Ascend P1 and P1 S were announced, showcasing technology that will attract tech-savvy Android fans.

Both the P1 and P1 S feature a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED gorilla glass display, a Dual-Core TI OMAP 4460 paired with an SGX540 CPU, 8.0 MP rear / 1.3 MP front shooters, 1GB ram, MHL-HDMI, and Android 4.0 ICS. The P1 coming in at 7.69 mm versus the P1 S at 6.68 mm being the only difference.

While no US carrier was confirmed, Huawei confirmed support for 5 UMTS bands and 4 GSM bands. A quick hands on proved the phones snappy and responsive. The screen performed well under bright lights, and the camera fired off well exposed shots.

The phones are available in black, white, and pink, with other future color options to follow.
