Activision Blizzard Inc. this week updated the spawn logic component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC.
The update is said to improve when, where, and how each user spawns after death. The prior version allow users to potentially spawn in the line of fire to result in immediate death.
Activision Blizzard in Dec. said Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 surpassed $1 billion in retail sales.
In addition, Call of Duty Elite has sold one million premium subscriptions to date. Premium features include daily competitions, download content and prizes.
NPD Group Inc. in Dec. reported Modern Warfare 3 ranked as the No. 1 game title across all platforms, with an estimated nine million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, released Nov. 8, includes new locations like New York, London and Paris, in addition to several lead characters.
The final game includes competitive and co-op online multiplayer options.
