Sony Corp. this week discounted the Sony Tablet S SKUs by $100 in a permanent price reduction.
The Sony Tablet S 16GB now sells at $399.99, down from $499.99 and the 32GB SKU at $499.99, down from $599.99.

HP discontinued the HP TouchPad in July and sold remaining inventory at $99.00 for the 16GB SKU and $149.00 for the 32GB SKU.
Apple Inc.’s iPad, which currently dominates the tablet market at 30 million units sold, shipped 9.25 million units in the third quarter of 2011.
