Retailer Amazon.com Inc. this week price cut THQ Inc.’s uDraw products after the company warned of weaker-than-expected demand for the video game tablet.
This week, Amazon discounted the uDraw tablet by up to 63 percent and game titles by 25 percent to drive sales.
THQ in Dec. cut its third quarter net sales forecast by 25 percent to $510 million citing lower demand for uDraw products.
The uDraw tablet was released in Dec. 2010 for Nintendo Co.’s Wii to solid demand. The product was released to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 in 2011. The hardware carries an MSRP between $69.95 and $79.95.
Titles for the product include uDraw Pictionary, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat, and SpongBob SquigglePants.
