Nintendo Co. this week said Fire Emblem 3DS for the Nintendo 3DS will offer the hardware first paid DLC product in Japan according to a new report.

Nikkei News this week said the Fire Emblem 3DS DLC to offer additional game content will be sold in Mar.

Fire Emblem, the latest entry in the strategy franchise, will be sold in spring 2012 in Japan.

Japan-based data firm Enterbrain this week said the Nintendo 3DS has sold 4.1 million units in Japan to date.

The Nintendo 3DS just passed the 3M million sold mark in the second week of Dec.

Strong demand for titles including Capcom Co.’s Monster 3G, Super Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7 have kept 3DS sales as the top-selling game hardware in Japan for consecutive weeks in the holiday period.
