Media Create Co. this week said sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita ranked second across all hardware platforms in Japan.

The PS Vita sold 324,859 units between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational at No. 7 with 61,412 units sold, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss at No. 8 with 48,224 units sold.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 64,468 units in the same period.

The Playstation Vita, to be sold in Feb. 22, 2012, will include the dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes. It will utilize flash-memory game cards.

Hardware specifications include an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, front camera, rear camera, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.

The Wi-Fi only model will sell at $249.99. The 3G model will sell at $299.99.

The Playstation Vita First Edition Bundle will be sold Feb. 15.
