Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held as the top-selling game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 367,691 units between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The 3DS ranked three titles in the top 10 for the week, including Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 3G at No. 2, Mario Kart 7 at No. 3, and Super Mario 3D Land at No. 5.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo DSi LL sold 5,600 units, the Nintendo DSi 3,523 units, and DSL 32 units for the week.
Nintendo in Dec. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold nearly 2.5 million units in the U.S.
The company said the Nintendo 3DS in Nov. sold 795,000 units, a 215 percent increase over the previous month.
Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.
The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
