U.S. retail stores held Microsoft Corp.’s Kinect for Xbox 360 under its MSRP to spur year-end holiday sales.

Retailer Amazon.com Inc. this week held the Kinect sensor with three game titles at a sale price of $99.99, $50 below the $149.99 MSRP.

The retailer previously discounted the peripheral to under $100 in Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotional sales.

This week, it is concurrently holding a Buy 2 Get 1 Free Kinect game sale and offering a $100 credit with the purchase of the Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle.

Meanwhile, Best Buy Co. Inc. this week discounted the Kinect sensor to $119.99 in a weekly sale.

Microsoft in Dec. said it sold 750,000 Kinect sensors were sold in bundle and stand-alone configurations during Black Friday week.
