Retailer Amazon.com Inc. this week began holding a 50 percent off video game sale for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, Nintendo Co.’s Wii and handheld products in a new holiday promotion.
This week, customers can purchase select video game titles at least 50 percent off the regular MSRP.
Eligible titles include Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports Season Two, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Nintendogs + Cats, and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.
Amazon is concurrently offering bonus credit with the purchase of select video game consoles and pre-order titles.
NPD Group Inc. in Dec. said video game sales totaled $3 billion in Nov., which includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping periods.
Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ranked as the No. 1 title for the month, while Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ranked second the same period.
