Nintendo Co. this week announced the software lineup for the Nintendo 3DS handheld in early 2012.

New titles include Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil: Revelations (Feb. 6), Kid Icarus: Uprising (Mar. 23), and Konami Corp.’s Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater (Q1).

In addition, Nintendo will release the optional Circle Pad Pro Feb. 7 to add an second analog stick to the hardware at GameStop Corp. retail stores and online division at $19.99.

New Nintendo eShop titles in Q1 include Dillion’s Rolling Western, Sakurai Samurai: Art of the Sword, VVVVV, Nightsky, Mighty Switch Force, and Mutant Mudds.

Nintendo in Nov. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold nearly 2.5 million units in the U.S.

Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.

The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
