Bethesda Softworks’ Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim nabbed top honors at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards in an event held Dec. 10 in Los Angeles, CA.

The The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was awarded the Vector Monkey for Game of the Year, Best RPG, and Studio of the Year honors for Bethesda Softworks.

The Joker from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Inc.’s Batman: Arkham City won Character of the Year.

Nintendo General Manager of the Entertainment Shigeru Miyamoto accepted the Video Game Hall of Fame Award for The Legend of Zelda franchise.

Additional winners include Sony Corp.’s Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for Best Graphics, Nintendo Co.’s The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Best Motion Game, Microsoft Corp.’s Forza Motorsport 4 for Best Racing Game, and Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Best Shooter.

New titles previewed included The Last of Us, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Command & Conquer: Generals 2, Alan Wake: American Nightmare, Fortnite, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, Bioshock Infinite, and Mass Effect 3.
