Microsoft Corp. this week said Bing is now available for the Xbox 360 hardware to offer voice search functionality to owners.

Bing will offer voice search to access owner content, from movies, games, TV shows, apps and music with the Kinect sensor peripheral.

Voice search functions across various applications, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Comcast Xfinity on Demand, HBO Go and Zune.

Users without the Kinect sensor can facilitate text search via the Xbox 360 controller.

Bing voice search is part of a Dashboard Update that includes new features like cloud storage for game saves and Xbox Live profiles, beacons and Facebook sharing, enhanced family settings, and integrated Kinect voice and gesture controls.

Additional features to roll out in the holiday period include new custom applications for TV, movies, internet videos, sports and music.
