Sony Corp. this week said the Uncharted franchise for the Playstation 3 has sold 13 million copies worldwide to date.
In an interview with Industry Gamers, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Marketing Manager Asad Quizilbash said the latest installment of the franchise shipped 3.8 million copies in one-day and first week sales doubled the prior installment.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception began sale Nov. 11, 2011.
It includes a brand new epic campaign mode in a search for the ‘Atlantis of the Sands’ to include locations like a derelict chateau in France, to the merciless Arabian Dessert.
The final game includes competitive and co-op multiplayer online functionality and stereoscopic 3D support.
The previous title, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, has sold nearly eight million units worldwide.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was a launch title for the PS3 in 2006.
Sony in July said more than 1.53 million users participated in the Multiplayer Beta for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
In addition, users totaled 1.9 billion kills, 1.4 trillion dollars, 48 billion shots, and 22 million matches.
