Microsoft Corp. this week said the release of the new Xbox 360 Dashboard Update, which adds new features and functionality to the hardware, will incur a slight delay.
Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb Tues. said the company is working to get the release out and will have an update this afternoon.
The update includes new features like cloud storage for game saves and Xbox Live profiles, beacons and Facebook sharing, enhanced family settings, integrated Kinect voice and gesture controls, and Bing voice search.
Additional feature to roll out in the holiday period include new custom applications for TV, movies, internet videos, sports and music.
New Xbox Live content providers will include Bravo, Comcast, HBO GO, Verizon FiOS, and Syfy in the U.S.
Worldwide partners include the BBC in the U.K., Telefonica in Spain, and Rogers On Demand in Canada.
Microsoft in Nov. said the Xbox 360 sold 393,000 units in Oct. U.S. sales to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the month.
