Microsoft Corp. this week said it sold nearly one million Xbox 360 units during Black Friday week to become the biggest sales week in the hardware’s history.
Between Nov. 20 and Nov. 26, the Xbox 360 sold 960,000 units in the U.S.
The company said 800,000 units were sold within a 24-hour period and 750,000 Kinect sensors were sold in bundle and stand-alone configurations.
Retailers including Amazon.com Inc. and GameStop Corp. price cut the Xbox 360 hardware to as low as $139.99 in Black Friday sales promotions.
Additionally, the Kinect held a $50 price cut at major U.S. retail stores in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
