Google Inc. this week said it will price cut Chromebook laptop SKUs by up to 30 percent.
Chromebook models, which include SKUs manufactured by Acer Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, will now start at $299.00.
Prior models sold at $349.00 and $429.00.
The company concurrently updated the Chrome OS with a two-step login functionality, offline Gmail support, and NTFS hard drive support.
Chromebook notebooks are internet-based and feature faster boot times and web applications from the Chrome Store.
The Chrome OS was introduced in 2009.
