Electronics firms have begun shipment of panel displays for the next model of Apple Inc.’s iPad according to a new report.

The Digitimes this week said Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Corp. and Sharp Corp. have shipped a total of one million high-resolution flat panels for the next iPad in Oct.

In addition, suppliers will increase production to two million units in Nov.

The report concludes Foxconn Technology Group is expected to begin assembly of the next iPad in Jan. 2012.

The iPad, which currently dominates the tablet market at 30 million units sold, shipped 9.25 million units in the third quarter of 2011.
