Media Create Co. this week said the Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in hardware sales in the latest Japan retail activity.
The PS3 sold 26,966 units between Oct. 31 to Nov. 6 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 25,217 to rank third the week prior.
EA Inc.’s Battlefield 3 ranked as the top-selling game title in Oct. U.S. sales.

Microsoft this week reported that the Xbox 360 sold 393,000 units in Oct. U.S. sales to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the month.
The company added the Xbox 360 held more than 44 percent of current generation market share for the month.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Wii sold 11,725 units between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6 to rank No. 4 in overall sales.
By comparison, the Wii sold 11,784 units the week prior.
The report claims Nintendo is hard at work to include simultaneous use of two tablet controllers. The company previously stated that the Wii U could support one tablet controller and four Wii Remote controllers.
In addition, the company’s final specifications for RAM capacity and CPU speed are still pending.

The 3DS ranked two titles in the top 10 for the week, including Super Mario 3D Land at No. 1 and Square Enix Holdings Co.’s Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime 3 at No. 7.
