Verizon Wireless this week began offering double data to 4G LTE customers in a new limited time promotion.

Beginning Nov. 8, new customers or existing customers who purchased a phone within 14 days will a receive double data allowance per month.

Under promotion terms, users would pay $30 per month for 4GB of data, $50 per month for 10GB of data, and $80 per month for 20GB of data.

The promotion is said to be available through the holidays.

Verizon in July began capping data usage for smartphones. It previously offered unlimited data plans to customers.

T-Mobile Inc. offers unlimited data to smartphone users, but throttles data after 5GB of usage per month. Sprint Corp. offers unlimited data to customers, including Apple Inc.’s iPhone product.
