Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC may generated more than $1 billion in sales according to an analyst forecast.
Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities, this week said he expects Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to yield 10 percent higher sales than Call of Duty: Black Ops and generate $1.1 billion in the first six weeks of sale.
Call of Duty: Black Ops, sold in 2010, generated $1 billion in sales in six weeks and sold 25 million copies at global retail.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will include new locations like New York, London and Paris, in addition to several lead characters.
Additionally, the sequel is said to include a co-op survival mode.
The title is in development at Infinity Ward in collaboration with Sledgehammer Studios and Raven Software.
