Sales for the Steve Jobs autobiography ranked as the top new book product this week based on first-week sales.
Nielsen Company this week said Steve Jobs sold 379,000 copies in the first week of availability.
Written by Walter Isaacon, Steve Jobs is an exclusive autobiography based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years.
Jobs cooperated with the book, though he asked for no control over what was written or to read it before it was published.
Jobs Oct. 5 died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He revitalized Apple’s sales with the release of the key products, including the iMac in 1998, followed by the iPod music player in 2001, iPhone smartphone in 2007, and the iPad in 2010.
Amazon in Sept. announced new Kindle models including the Kindle at $79.00, the Kindle Touch with touch display and built-in Wi-Fi at $99.00, and the Kindle Touch 3G which adds free 3G wireless functionality at $149.00.
